Montessori Staples

Where to start? What's needed? How can I create a suitable Montessori environment for my child? Montessori staples include a floor bed, a learning tower, and a light-colored open access shelf.

There are many aspects of the Montessori environment that are hackable or DIY-able. Some materials are not worth DIYing, because the value of your time outweighs the cost of finding the material new or used. However, there are many unique materials you can create on your own, in a short amount of time.

The Environment

Creating a proper Montessori environment at home can be overwhelming at first. Thankfully, there are some simple steps you can take right now to get started.

About Montessori Culture

What is Montessori Culture?

Montessori culture is creating a Montessori- inspired environment in your home, using what you have.  It does not mean you have to purchase all the name brand materials.  It means you DIY what you can, you buy what you can, you use what you already have, and you do so in a Montessori-inspired way. In other words, your home has the culture of Montessori :-).
